Studying the relationship between physical activity, body weight, and cardiovascular health in young men is an important task for modern medicine. Of particular interest is whether high physical activity can compensate for the negative impact of excess body weight on autonomic regulation and cardiac function. A total of 178 men (mean age 29.2 ± 3.45 years, health group I) were examined. The following set of methods was used: a comprehensive health assessment (anamnesis, anthropometry); pedometry over a weekly cycle with centile distribution of the average daily number of locomotions; 24-hour blood pressure and heart rate monitoring with heart rate variability analysis (a combined ECG and BP Holter monitor, Kardiotekhnika-07, Inkart, Saint Petersburg), statistical processing using Statistica 26.0. A study of 178 men using pedometers and 24-hour Holter monitoring revealed that overweight individuals with high physical activity exhibit higher daytime and nighttime heart rate and blood pressure, a lack of adequate nighttime blood pressure reduction (non-dipper profile), signs of stress in regulatory mechanisms, and activation of the sympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system, as measured by heart rate variability analysis. Thus, high physical activity does not offset the negative effects of excess weight on the cardiovascular system. The findings highlight the importance of considering individual constitutional and typological characteristics when developing weight management and physical activity programs for overweight men. This will allow for personalized exercise recommendations and more effective weight loss management aimed at restoring autonomic balance and preventing cardiovascular risks. Studying the relationship between physical activity and cardiovascular parameters in young men is a pressing issue in modern medical science.
